VOCE Choral Concert: 6th December 2008
Our supporters at All Saints Church in Weston Green, Surrey, held a festive concert of choral music by the Voices of Cambridge Ensemble (VOCE) on Saturday, 6th December. An evening collection was held at the end of the evening for TAO. The charity is extremely grateful for the continued support by the church and the congregation at Weston Green.
The beautiful All Saints Church was designed by the renowned architect Edward Maufe, (who also responsible for Guildford Cathedral and the Oxford Playhouse), and completed in 1939. It is well-known for its fine acoustics which VOCE set-off to their full effect.
The 300 seat church was packed for the evening event in which VOCE performed Christmas choral music from the past 400 years interspersed with poems from Betjeman and Tennyson.
