Giving through your salary
Payroll giving or ‘give as you earn’ is one of the easiest ways to give to charity and is tax free if you are a UK taxpayer. For us it provides a reliable regular donation and it is the only way we can automatically receive all your tax on a donation.
How it operates:
- Your contributions are deducted from your pay before tax. For example if you are giving £10 a month, this will mean only £7.70 is deducted from your take-home pay – but we receive the full £10.
- For higher rate taxpayers, donations are even more valuable. For example, if you are a 40% tax-payer each pound you give will be worth £1.66 to us.
- Any UK tax payer can pay this way if their pay or pension is taxed through PAYE.

Special occasion donations
We would be delighted if you choose to encourage your friends and family to donate to TAO, in place of traditional wedding, birthday or other special occasion gifts. You can do this easily through Virgin Money Giving, allowing donations to be made online.
We would be happy to provide you with information to send to your friends.
Please contact Joy Mugisha, office details below, for further information and so we can look out for all donations and send thank you messages to the donors with a reference to your special event.
Donations & standing orders by post
To make a donation or arrange a standing order by post, please print off, complete and send us the relevant form below.
A regular donation by standing order is particularly helpful. Knowing that we have a reliable level of support enables us to allocate funds for longer-term projects and initiatives. If your circumstances change and you need to cancel the standing order at any time, all you have to do is instruct your bank to cease payment.
Cheques or postal orders should be made payable to ‘Trust for Africa’s Orphans’. All donations will be acknowledged as soon as possible by post. For security reasons, please do not send cash. The printable donation form below contains a Gift Aid Declaration so that if you are a UK taxpayer we are able to re-claim the tax.
Postal donations and standing order forms can be sent to:
